Welcome to S&R Paint. By using our website (https://srpaint.ie) or engaging our painting and decorating services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please review them carefully.

1General Overview & Service Areas

  • S&R Paint provides professional residential and commercial painting, interior and exterior decorating, wallpapering, and cabinet spray painting across the Republic of Ireland.
  • Primary Service Areas: Dublin City & County, Bray, Wicklow, Greystones, Kilcoole, Celbridge (County Kildare), and surrounding areas.
  • Projects outside standard operating zones may be subject to additional travel or logistical fees as detailed in your specific quotation.

2Quotations and Estimates

  1. Free Inquiries & Quotations: Initial estimates provided over the phone, via our online form, or by email are provisional and subject to a formal on-site assessment.
  2. Validity Period: Written quotations remain valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issuance.
  3. Scope of Work: The quotation includes only the specific preparation, materials, surfaces, and coats specified in the written proposal. Any additional work requested by the client during project execution (e.g., additional rooms, unexpected structural repairs, change of paint specifications) will be quoted separately as a variation and agreed in writing prior to execution.

3Client Obligations & Site Preparation

To ensure timely and safe project completion, the client agrees to:

  • Site Access: Provide clear, unobstructed access to the work areas during agreed working hours (typically 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, unless agreed otherwise).
  • Utilities: Ensure operational electricity, lighting, running water, and sanitary facilities are available on-site at no cost to the contractor.
  • Valuables & Furniture: Remove all fragile items, valuable personal belongings, electronics, and small decorative items from the work area prior to commencement. While S&R Paint uses protective dust sheets and masking tape, we cannot accept liability for pre-existing damage to delicate items left within the active work zone.
  • Pets & Children: Ensure children and pets are kept away from active working areas, wet paint, ladders, and professional equipment.

4Exterior Painting & Weather Limitations

  • Exterior painting in Ireland is strictly weather-dependent. Work cannot proceed under conditions of rainfall, heavy frost, high humidity (>85%), or temperatures below manufacturers’ technical thresholds (typically below 5°C to 8°C).
  • S&R Paint reserves the right to pause or reschedule exterior work to protect finish quality and paint longevity. Delays caused by adverse weather conditions do not constitute a breach of contract.

5Materials, Colours & Substrate Conditions

  • Premium Brands: We utilise industry-trusted paints including Dulux, Colourtrend, Fleetwood, Farrow & Ball, and Little Greene.
  • Colour Approval: The client is solely responsible for verifying and approving paint colours, finishes, and sample patches prior to bulk application. S&R Paint is not liable for costs associated with changing colours once applied according to client specifications.
  • Underlying Substrate Defects: Painting covers surfaces but does not repair severe structural faults, rising damp, active water leaks, blown plaster, or deep timber rot unless specifically contracted for remedial carpentry/plastering. We are not liable for paint peeling or blistering caused by underlying structural moisture or water ingress.

6Payment Terms & Invoicing

  1. Deposit: For medium to large-scale projects, a deposit may be required prior to commencement to secure the booking date and purchase specialist materials.
  2. Milestone / Final Payment: The balance of the contract price is payable immediately upon completion of the project and joint client walkthrough, or within 7 days of invoice issuance.
  3. Accepted Payment Methods: Bank Transfer (EFT) or other agreed payment methods.
  4. Late Payments: Overdue accounts may be subject to statutory interest under the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012.

7Limitation of Liability & Warranties

  • Quality Standard: All work will be executed with reasonable skill, care, and diligence using standard professional trade practices.
  • Touch-Up Walkthrough: Upon project completion, a snag list/walkthrough will be conducted. Minor touch-ups identified at this stage will be resolved promptly.
  • Liability Cap: To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, our liability for direct loss or damage arising out of or in connection with our services shall be limited to the total contract sum paid by the client for the specific job.
  • Exclusions: S&R Paint shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, normal wear and tear, customer-inflicted scratches or scuffs, or failure to follow drying/curing care instructions.

8Cancellation Policy

  • By the Client: Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 5 working days before the scheduled start date. Cancellations made with less notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit to cover procured materials and reserved labour time.
  • By the Contractor: In the rare event of unforeseen emergencies or severe equipment/staff constraints, we will notify the client promptly and reschedule at the earliest mutually agreeable date.

9Website Usage & Intellectual Property

  • All content, photography, project images, graphics, and text on https://srpaint.ie are the intellectual property of S&R Paint or used under licence.
